A little information about the stylist:
I am a hairstylist in Monroe Louisiana!!! I love being a stylist because I make people feel good about themselves! I also enjoy seeing the transition of hair, my career is based on the belief that my clients’ needs are of the utmost importance. I am committed to meeting those needs. As a result, a high percentage of my business is from repeat customers and referrals. I welcome the opportunity to earn your trust and deliver you the best service as I possibly can; I look forward to working with you!!
What’s your favorite braid pattern?
I do not have a favorite braid pattern…I prefer to have the client braided with the natural contour of their head. Every head shape and size is different.
How many packs of hair do you normally recommend for a full in
Depending upon the request of fullness for the client I use a bag and a half.
When doing extensions what do you consider the most important aspect of an install. Braids? hair quality? Hair texture?
When doing extensions the most important thing is to make sure that the natural hair underneath is not being smothered which will result in hair loss!!! I make sure that the client’s hair is shampooed weekly or bi-weekly to ensure that the hair is moisturized to prevent dryness and breakage.
What is your technique for achieving the most natural looking weave possible?
I have many techniques, the best technique is to leave a small portion of the edges out and a horseshoe section out in the top of the head, lastly blend, blend, blend!!!
If you install closures, what is your technique for application?
Most of the time I install the closure first to ensure the right placement then I continue with installing the wefted hair.
How important is the braid pattern to you?
The braid technique is very important to me because it is the foundation!! If the foundation is not correct all else will fail.
Do you offer color services for extensions?
Yes I offer color services on virgin hair.
Have you ever had a customer requested something that was unachievable? How do you respond?
Yes!! That’s why a consultation is extremely important because some clients are unsure of what technique is best for their hair and it is our job to explain to them the correct technique that will rest their hair but promote natural hair growth while sporting their fabulous style.
What the best method of installing hair? That protects your natural hair? Malaysia method? Glue? sew -in? etc
I believe that the best method is sewn in because it protects your hair while its growing…only if you keep your scalp oiled and moisturized underneath.
Any advice on how to make your install last longer?
To make your install last longer be sure not to braid the hair too tight because it will result in hair loss also make sure u use the lock stitch method while applying the weave so that you can secure the wefted pieces!!!
